Elena Mikhaylova, coordinator of the Chelyabinsk leisure center, received a grant from the governor of the Chelyabinsk region to organize audio description for the deaf-blind.

The project of our colleague "Seeing the World with Others' Eyes" is intended to help 406 deaf-blind people in the region. Its implementation will begin on February 1.

Recall that in the Chelyabinsk region there are 6 leisure facilities for the deaf-blind. Since 2019, employees of the LC have carried out 85 rehabilitation measures.

Audio description is necessary for blind people in the cinema, theater, at cultural and sports events. The audio descriptive commentator, using laconic formulations, describes objects, space or actions that occur next to the deaf-blind.

In the course of the project implementation, special equipment will be purchased and the information on the activities of the LC in the region will be provided, as well as a practical training seminar for their coordinators and specialists working with this category of people.
